Summer School Jobs in Cornwall

We’re seeking enthusiastic EFL Teachers and Activity Leaders to join Language Tree, Cornwall’s only British Council-accredited language school. Our International Summer School offers an immersive blend of English lessons and cultural activities. Roles are available for next summer, including possible residential positions, with options to combine teaching and activity leadership.

Job Vacancy – EFL Teacher

(Summer School teaching adults and children aged 9+)

  • Location: Penryn Campus, Cornwall

  • Period: June – August (short and longer posts available, depending on availability)

  • Residential roles: Option available

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for international students

  • Link lessons to afternoon activities and local culture

  • Ensure lessons meet British Council standards

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback

  • Collaborate with activity leaders and staff to ensure smooth delivery

Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the UK

  • CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, or equivalent Level 5 EFL qualification (other qualifications considered if candidate shows potential)

  • Native or near-native English speaker

  • Team player with good organisational skills

  • Ability to adapt lessons to diverse learners

Desirable Skills:

  • First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one

  • Experience incorporating local culture into lessons

  • Experience teaching young learners, preferably in summer programs

Working Hours:

  • Starting from 15 hours per week

  • Option to increase hours by taking an additional Activity Leader or residential role

Job Vacancy – Activity Leader

(Summer School working with adults and children aged 9+)

  • Location: Penryn Campus, Cornwall

  • Period: June – August (depending on availability)

  • Residential roles: Option available

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise afternoon and evening activities (beach games, sports, creative projects, excursions)

  • Foster a fun, positive, and inclusive environment

  • Assist with excursions, ensuring student safety and providing cultural insights

  • Coordinate with transport and venues to keep activities on schedule

Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the UK

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills

  • Passion for working with young people and adults

  • Ability to motivate and engage international students

  • First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one (training provided)

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience leading activities or working with young learners in summer programs

  • Knowledge of Cornwall’s geography and cultural landmarks

  • Flexible, proactive, and team-oriented

Working Hours:

  • Part-time and full-time positions available
