Welcome to our Language Tree Student Hub!

We hope you are feeling excited about your summer programme with us!

For some of our younger students, especially those travelling alone, we understand there may be some nervousness about travelling to the UK and what the summer school will be like.

You may have various questions about what to bring and any other key things to do before the summer.

We hope this page answers your questions and helps to calm any nerves.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have more questions beyond the information we provide here.

We spend all year getting ready for our annual summer school and we like to make sure while you are here with us, you get to do all the best things that Cornwall has to offer!

In order to make the most of your time with us, it is really important that you bring all the things on our checklist.

Make sure all your official documents are ready!

One of the most important things you can do to feel relaxed and prepared is to ensure all your documents are ready for your journey to the UK!

All visitors to the UK must have a valid ETA (electronic travel authorisation) – this is an electronic visa that is very easy and quick to apply for. Once you have applied for your ETA it is valid for 2 years and you may enter and leave the UK multiple times.

If you haven’t applied for your ETA yet, please read this page on our website with detailed advice about how to apply.

Please ensure you have at least 6 months before the expiry of your passport – this is essential before you enter the UK.

Parental Consent Forms for under 18s

If you are under 18 and travelling to the UK alone, you will need to complete our Parental Consent Form.

Once we have received your Parental Consent Form and a copy of your passport, we will produce the official Course Offer letter that you will carry with you when entering the UK.

For all students under 18 travelling to the UK alone, our staff will be there to meet you on arrival. We will also see you safely onto your flight back home too.

We provide a complete meet and greet service for young travellers. We will stay in touch with students and parents via WhatsApp during the journey so we can ensure everything goes smoothly.

In addition, to the Course Offer letter that is required to enter the UK, there will also be similar paperwork required to give consent for young people to leave their home country.

Depending on your accommodation choice, we have two different Parental Consent forms:

Summer School Placement Test

Before you arrive for summer school, we need you to complete a short test to help us decide which level of class will be best for you.

This also saves lots of time at the start of your course finding out which level of class will be best for you.

If you have a strong preference on which level you believe you should be in, please let us know and we will always do our best to accommodate this.

In June, we will send all students a link to complete their test online. If you prefer to download the test, complete it and send it back to us, please click on the link below.

Our Summer Itineraries

In June, we will publish our itineraries for this summer.

You will be able to download the itineraries for the weeks you are with us this summer.

Our aim is to provide the best possible summer language school experience for every student who joins us each year.

No two weeks are the same and every week has been carefully curated to meet the interests of the students who have signed up for that week.

We can’t wait to welcome you soon!
