Residential accommodation

Staying on the Penryn Campus

We are delighted to be located on The Penryn Campus, part of Falmouth University. This modern, clean and green university campus is the perfect location for our international summer school. Everything is in one place, including premium quality accommodation suitable for all age groups.

If you choose our residential accommodation on campus, you will have:

    • Full-board accommodation – breakfast, lunch and dinner – all served in the dining hall and freshly cooked on campus with a variety of options for each meal.

    • A choice of individual or twin bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms.

    • Access to kitchens and social space in each flat of seven rooms. Plus, laundry facilities if you would like to wash your clothes while you are here.

    • Separate accommodation blocks for Juniors, Families and Adults.

    • Safe and secure accommodation. All students will have an electronic key which can only be used to access their flat. Language Tree staff & university security are available 24 hours per day.

    • Evening activities on campus for our Junior students, including sports, board games, quizzes, and a weekly disco.

    • Adults aged 18+ will have access to a high-quality gym with regular exercise classes.

    • An easy walk of 200m to the classes & dining hall in the mornings.

Staying on campus is great for those who want to socialise with other students in the evenings.

For our Junior students, we have a full programme of fun evening activities on campus. And for our adult students who want to go into Penryn and Falmouth for some evening entertainment, our staff are happy to help you find the best things to do.

Homestay accommodation

Another fantastic option is to stay with one of our friendly hosts. We take great pride in our network of homestay accommodation and the wonderful hosts we work with.

They are an integral part of the Language Tree team and work hard to offer our students a wonderful time during their stay.

If you choose to stay with a host, we take great care to match you with a host who meets all your needs and preferences.

We do not use any kind of hosting agency. We know each and every one of our hosts personally.

We know about their hobbies and interests and all this information helps us match each of our students with the perfect host to stay with during their time in Cornwall.

Before arriving on in Cornwall, we put students and hosts in touch with each other to exchange greetings prior to arrival.

When staying in our homestay accommodation, students will:

    • Enjoy breakfast and dinner with their host every day. (Lunch is on campus with all the other students before we head off on our excursions)
    • Spend their evenings socialising with their hosts.
    • Get the chance to fully immerse themselves in British family life.
    • Junior students will be dropped off and collected by their hosts each day so there is no need for under 18s to use public transport or walk to campus. (Adult students can choose how they would like to get to and from campus each day)

Staying with a host is perfect for those students who would prefer quiet evenings with the opportunity to chat and get to immerse themselves in English life and culture.

Our hosts really enjoy meeting and getting to know our students. There will be plenty of opportunities for conversation, as well as sharing cultural differences and similarities in a hands-on way!

Each of our hosts and their homes is different, which is part of the fun! Some of our hosts live near to the campus, others live in nearby cities or towns like Truro and Falmouth. A few even have homes by the beach or in the countryside. No matter the location, every home is comfortable, safe, and full of character.

All of our hosts are within 15 minutes of the campus. All our hosts will drop off and collect students at the start and end of each day.

Our hosts love welcoming students into their homes, and we love to see the special memories hosts and students make together!

Private accommodation

We can also help you rent a private apartment or a cosy cottage near the campus.

For students joining our Family Summer School or Adult Language Experiences we know that staying in private accommodation can be the preferred option. It gives students the freedom of their own space with easy access to the campus each day.

Any student choosing private accommodation will be offered support from us, if desired.

We can use our local knowledge, matched with your preferences, to recommend the best options for your stay. You can then choose if you prefer to book directly yourself or we can book the accommodation for you.

Choosing the right accommodation is a key part of any language holiday experience

We understand that quality accommodation is a vital part of any holiday experience.

Outside of our Summer School season, we spend the rest of the year getting everything ready to provide the best experience possible for all the students who join us.

Cornwall is our home and we work all year round with our hosts and the university campus to optimise all aspects of the accommodation we offer (as well as all the other aspects of our summer school too!).

We know that if our students feel comfortable, relaxed and happy in their accommodation, then the whole summer school experience will be enhanced.

As a result our students can immerse themselves in our language programme, excursions, meeting new people and creating some unforgettable memories.
