Introducing a group of Language Tree students to Trelissick House and Gardens

Visit Trelissick House and Gardens with Language Tree

Trelissick House and Gardens is just one of the many fantastic National Trust properties across Cornwall.

The National Trust is an important charity in the UK that protects historic houses and gardens like Trelissick.

These places tell an important story about the history and culture of Cornwall.

Whenever we take students to one of these special places, you will be guided by our experienced staff.

As well as our staff, there is no-one better to tell you stories about the locations we visit than the National Trust volunteers who work there.

Trelissick House & Gardens

Overlooking the Carrick Roads estuary, Trelissick welcomes over 200,000 visitors every year.

It is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it’s clear to see why, as you stroll through its woodland and gardens.

The house was designed around 1750 and has an impressive orangery. The gardens are known for their rhododendrons and azaleas, as well as an array of exotic plants that thrive in the temperate conditions of this part of Cornwall.

Like most of these historic houses, there are fascinating stories about the people who lived there. Trelissick has connections to Harrods, Spode china and one of the UK’s first female MPs.

Arrive at Trelissick by boat

One of the most beautiful ways to arrive at Trelissick is by boat joining the river cruise from either Truro or Falmouth.

As you float down the beautiful estuary, it feels like you are in a different world.

If you’re lucky you may see seals or even dolphins and the captain of the boat is always keen to share stories about important historical events linked to the River.
