Language Tree is Cornwall’s only British Council accredited language school, offering immersive, high-quality English language experiences in one of the UK’s most beautiful and culturally rich regions.

We are an independent, family-run school. We opened our school in 2017 and since 2024, we have been based on Falmouth University’s stunning Penryn Campus.

We welcome students from all over the world to join our exciting summer programmes learning English through cultural discovery and outdoor adventure.

Whether you’re a teenager, adult, or family, our summer school programmes provide the perfect blend of language, learning, and unforgettable memories. We believe education should be exciting, personal, and full of opportunities to grow — both in and outside the classroom.

Where language comes to life

Cornwall is our home county, it is where we grew up and it gives us great pride to welcome students from around the world and to introduce them to all the best things this region has to offer.

During your morning English lessons we integrate structured language classes alongside lessons to help you learn more about the history and culture of Cornwall. This means that when we go on our afternoon excursions, you have an insight into the places that we visit that really brings them to life.

Your English teachers also join our excursions allowing conversations to continue outside the classroom. Every day is a chance to use your English in real-life settings — whether you’re surfing the Cornish coast or exploring ancient castles. Language Tree is more than a school — it’s a full cultural experience.

Language, Culture & Adventure

At Language Tree, all aspects of our course programmes – both inside and outside of the classroom – are guided by our three core values:

Language – to provide engaging and communicative classes where you can really feel your language skills growing.

Culture – to embed the culture and history of the languages we are teaching into our courses.

Adventure – not all learning happens in the classroom. Our social activities and excursions are a key part of how we develop language skills and provide opportunities for real intercultural exchange.

Whether you’re walking the South West Coast Path, watching a show at the Minack Theatre, or studying a language grammar point from a course book in class, you’ll be building your language skills while having a wonderful holiday and meeting new friends from around the world.
