Earn money and make meaningful connections by hosting international students in Cornwall
Language Tree is looking for warm, welcoming families in Cornwall to host students attending our International Summer School from June to August 2025. This is a unique opportunity to share your home, learn about new cultures, and support students from around the world during their stay in the UK.
We are an independent language school based at Penryn Campus, run by locals who are passionate about sharing the beauty of Cornwall. Our goal is to provide international visitors with an enriching experience while respecting the daily life of our local community.
Our International Summer School brings together teenagers, families, and adults from around the globe for a fun, educational experience. Occasionally, we also require hosts outside the summer months.
We work closely with both students and host families to ensure a good match. You’ll be informed of dates in advance, and we’ll introduce you to your student(s) prior to arrival.
Hosting international students is a rewarding experience that allows you to:
Welcome students from diverse cultures into your home
Host for as little as one week or longer, depending on your availability
Choose to host teenagers or adults, based on your preference
Host up to 3 students, if your home has suitable space
Earn weekly payments for each student you host
It’s a chance to make lasting connections and offer students a true taste of British hospitality.
To ensure a safe and supportive environment, host families must:
Provide a comfortable bedroom for each student
Prepare breakfast and dinner daily (packed lunch may be required on occasion)
Be within a reasonable distance of Penryn Campus, or arrange transport if not nearby
Offer a friendly, safe, and supportive home environment
Be open to a home visit and background check by our team
Excellent weekly pay per student
